Liz Love, Ellicott Elementary’s STEM teacher has been awarded a grant from NYSCATE.  Liz’s application Reimagine Play: Board Game Design with Glowforge was accepted for full funding. 

With the guidance of Alie Kuitems and Elizabeth Andros, Liz submitted her STEAM Club Project, "Board Game Design with Glowforge," which she and Kate Ebling led with 3rd-grade students at Ellicott. This project empowers students to integrate strategic thinking and innovation into their unique game designs.

With the support of this grant, the District can support funding for essential materials, enabling students to craft their board games using Glowforge and incorporate other pieces of advanced technology needed to transform their imaginative concepts into a tangible product to share with others while demonstrating an understanding of STEM concepts and design thinking.
